Show some love for the Coast Live Oak (Quercus agrifolia), traditionally recognized as June's tree of the month. An evergreen tree native to the California coastal ranges, the Coast Live Oak can grow relatively quickly to a height of 70 feet with an equal spread, and once established, it tolerates drought extremely well and can live to the impressive age of over 250 years. This summer, volunteers are restarting The Great Oak Count, a comprehensive survey of native oaks in Palo Alto. Visit the link in our bio to learn how you can join this citizen science project!

For the last two years, the Girl Scouts and Canopy have partnered to care for trees in honor of Veterans Day.
