Does your employer match volunteer hours?

Many employers in our area offer donation matching and volunteer incentive programs to their current employees, retired employees, and sometimes employee spouses or family members, too.

This companies includes Adobe, AMD, Andreessen Horowitz, Apple, Facebook, Genentech, Google, HP, IBM, Intuit, Microsoft, PG&E, The Capital Group Companies, Wachovia, and many others.

There are two common ways that companies match employee contributions:

• Donation Match: When an employee donates to a nonprofit like Canopy, the company matches their employee’s donation, often dollar-for-dollar, up to a certain amount. Find out if your company matches donations here.
• Volunteer Hours Match: Some companies offer matching gifts when employees volunteer. For example, for every hour that you volunteer with Canopy, your company may donate a certain dollar amount. Search below to find out if you’re eligible.
