Thanks to everyone who helped us kick off the fall planting season last weekend! More than 70 volunteers from East Palo Alto community groups joined Canopy and the @richmayfoundation to plant and care for trees that provide shade and health benefits for this community hub.

We love our volunteers! Over the past year alone,

We love our volunteers! Over the past year alone, more than 750 volunteers shared close to 3,000 hours with Canopy as planting leaders and volunteers, pruning and tree care helpers, tree walk leaders and experts, tree surveyors, assistant educators, outreach and advocacy volunteers, generous donors, board and committee members, and more. Volunteers are, without a doubt, the core of Canopy’s success and impact. Thank you!

Canopy is pleased to announce Jean-Paul “JP” Renaud as the organization's new Executive Director! JP comes to Canopy from TreePeople, Southern California’s largest environmental nonprofit organization, where he served as Chief Communications Officer. He has over 15 years of experience in communications and executive leadership. Prior to TreePeople, JP served in the United States Peace Corps as an Organizational Capacity Building Specialist in Ukraine, where he created lasting impact in HIV/AIDS education, testing and treatment, and LGBTQ advocacy.
