Thank you to the 99 volunteers that came out this weekend to help plant in south Palo Alto, where tree canopy coverage is half that of the rest of the city. Together, we planted 16 trees, met our neighbors and made new friends. We wish to thank our amazing volunteers from the National Charity League Edgewood Chapter, MVLA SLOBs, YMSL Alpine, Assisteens of Los Altos, Los Altos Rotary, Ivy & Pearls Foundation, Sewa, and students from Irvington High School.

Canopy launched its first-ever tree giveaway as pa

Canopy launched its first-ever tree giveaway as part of two Día de los Muertos events, providing residents from 17 different cities with fruit trees to enhance food security and foster a deeper connection with nature! The events, held in collaboration with @smclibraries at Friendship Park in North Fair Oaks and La Cazuela Taqueria in East Palo Alto, distributed 79 trees to community members eager to bring greenery into their lives. The trees consisted of citrus, avocado, and fig varieties.

Thank you to arborist Vera Cordova for helping lead our bilingual fruit tree care workshops! We’re excited to continue this work to increase fruit tree access, education, and stewardship.
