At Canopy Tree Walks, a certified arborist guides participants through one of the neighborhood routes, sharing in-depth information, fun facts, and tips about caring for trees and selecting tree species. Thank you to the 32 volunteers, 15 Teen Urban Foresters, and Canopy staff who helped plant 20 trees at our East Palo Alto Neighborhood Planting on September 14th. It filled our hearts to see so many people come together on a Saturday morning to take action for our local urban forest. What a beautiful way to kick off the new planting season!

Canopy wishes to thank arborist Jennifer Tso, food policy specialist Peter Ruddock, permaculturist Kris Jensen, and nutritionist Lisa Herndon for guiding a fun, educational walk through the Edible Urban Forest of Palo Alto. Walking from Johnson Park to Gamble Garden, we learned about edible trees like the black walnut, urban foraging policy, yummy plant-based recipes, and tree care. If you weren’t able to join this tree walk, you can join our next walk at the @juniormuseumzoo on 9/28 (registration link in bio) and stay tuned for more dates!

We're looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to perform regular tree care activities and support Canopy's tree planting and stewardship events. This position is an excellent opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of urban forestry, to work collaboratively with others, and to affect positive change in our communities and the environment.
🌳Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, 40 hours/week
🌳Annual Salary: $60,000
🌳Location: Hybrid position based in Palo Alto, CA
