for hosting us and providing a fantastic space to have these conversations. Thank you our wonderful partners @climateresilientcommunities @nuestracasa for lending your lovely staff to lead a Spanish-speaking group and event support. Finally, thank you to @sanmateocounty and Supervisor Slocum for the Measure K funding which greatly supported this event.

Thank you, Senator @josh.becker.ca and local staff, for joining Canopy to plant trees with us on the @kippvaliant campus. Our Teen Urban Foresters (TUFs) were terrific planting leaders, and we are so grateful for the enthusiastic support of the KIPP Valiant community. We enjoyed being back planting on the Willow Oaks campus. Canopy added 8 @calfire-funded trees which are already busy doing the work of nature-based climate action! 🌳 @kippnorcal

Check out this cool new felt tree model that can be found accompanying Canopy's K-12 classroom lessons! Thank you so much to volunteer Stephanie Enos for handmaking four of these models and helping us conserve paper by providing a truly hands-on lesson.

Meet Evany Wang, Canopy's new community forestry c

Meet Evany Wang, Canopy's new community forestry coordinator working in Palo Alto and Mountain View. She graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, with a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, after which she became an AmeriCorps member, first assigned to @grassrootsecology in Palo Alto, then Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust in Seattle, WA. Before joining Canopy, Evany was a seasonal crew member with the Santa Lucia Conservancy, where she worked on invasive weeds management and fuel management. Please help us welcome Evany!

Meet Bria Blitch, Canopy's new tree programs manager! Before joining Canopy, Bria worked as a consulting utility forester in the Bay Area and managed Leaf and Vine Urban Plant Shop in Santa Cruz. She has always loved the outdoors and is thrilled to combine forestry and conservation work with education and community involvement in her work at Canopy. Say "hello" next time you see Bria in the field!
