Meet Carmen Bregoli, Canopy’s Youth Leadership Program Manager

Carmen Bregoli (she/her/ella) joined the Canopy team in October 2025 as the Youth Leadership Program Manager. We asked Carmen a few questions to get to know her better.

What were you up to before joining Canopy?

Carmen: Prior to Canopy, I was working for San Mateo County Parks as a Bilingual Community Engagement Intern after having moved back to California from Colorado where I completed my MBA in December 2024. I always knew I wanted to come back to the Bay Area to have an impact on the community I grew up in.

What are you excited to be working on?

Carmen: I am excited to be working with youth to share the knowledge I have gained over my education and career while learning from the youth’s experiences to help develop skills they can apply in their future. I also hope to spark an interest in sustainability and the environment which they can use in everyday life or as a career if they choose.

Why do you care about trees?

Carmen: I think trees are important as they are a key piece of the science and history of our planet allowing us to learn about resiliency against changing factors, different climate events, and so much more. They also provide major benefits to humans from providing clean air to providing material to being an avenue for activity and beauty.

What is your favorite tree?

Carmen: My favorite tree is the coastal redwood as I find them captivating and enchanting. All of their unique features including the tannins in their bark making them resilient to many outside factors and the fairy rings they create of new redwoods around an older redwood to continue to have their legacy live on.

What are your favorite hobbies?

Carmen: My favorite hobbies include being active whether that be playing a sport, hiking, climbing, yoga, or just moving your body. I also enjoy going on any type of adventure from going to the farmers market to discovering a new restaurant to exploring a new town.
