Meet Noah Alagao, Canopy’s AmeriCorps VISTA Member

By Canopy Team on August 13, 2024

Noah Alagao (he/him) joined the Canopy team in August 2024 as the AmeriCorps VISTA Member. We asked Noah a few questions to get to know him better.

What were you up to before joining Canopy?

Noah: I graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in June 2023 studying environmental science. After obtaining my undergraduate degree, I moved to Boston with my partner for almost a year. My professional experience consists of environmental field work, sustainability planning, and community outreach.

What are you excited to be working on?

Noah: I am excited to connect with community members and learn more about the relationship between the community and the environment. I hope to learn more about environmental design and sustainability outreach.

Why do you care about trees?

Noah: I think trees provide a space where people can connect whether it be with other people or within themselves. I personally love sitting in nature and being outside as it helps me reflect on my life and consolidate my thoughts.

What is your favorite tree?

Noah: I think my favorite tree is the Ginkgo because the shape of the leaf is so unique, similar to a handheld fan. I also think that the tree’s history of being resilient and adaptable to an area’s conditions makes it a strong candidate for an all-around great tree!

Favorite Quote?

Noah: “Be the change.”

What are your favorite hobbies?

Noah: I love to play video games, taking care of plants, making crafts, and exploring food spots!

Any last words?

Noah: Feel free to reach out to me about any questions and I would love to connect further!

Thanks, Noah! Welcome to the Canopy team. 🌳
