Meet Kali Young, Canopy’s Donor Relations Coordinator

By Canopy Team on October 7, 2025

Kali Young (she/they) joined Canopy in October 2025 as the Donor Relations Coordinator. We asked Kali a few questions to get to know them better.

What were you up to before joining Canopy?

Kali: I served as Development Manager for the Center for the Advancement of the Steady State Economy, SaveNature.org, and the Decolonizing Economics Summit. I also served as Program Director for the US Wellbeing Economy Alliance, the Sharing Cities Network and Bay Area Community Exchange and worked on many other environmental and social justice campaigns.

What are you excited to be working on?

Kali: Building an engaged Canopy community, dedicated to the land we collectively depend on and call home.

Why do you care about trees?

Kali: I appreciate how many crucial roles trees play in the health of our ecosystems and in supporting planetary boundaries. I also am deeply connected to trees as beautiful, living beings in their own right, influenced by David Abram’s book The Spell of the Sensuous.

What are your favorite hobbies?

Kali: I am obsessed with the nature of all of California, particularly the wilder parts, and enjoy the outdoors through hiking, camping and hot springs. I am passionate about climate justice.

Thanks, Kali! Welcome to the Canopy team. 🌳
