Join us for the 2026 Young Tree Care Survey (YTCS)! Every summer, YTCS volunteers and Canopy staff explore Palo Alto’s neighborhoods to survey young street trees. Volunteers are given routes to assess if trees are getting enough water, mulch, and pruning and to note their findings in TreePlotter.
We strongly encourage completing a virtual YTCS training (see Events Calendar) before joining an in-person survey session. The survey location will be a public space and the address will be sent to your email. Contact [email protected] or [email protected] with questions.

Join us for a tree care workshop in Palo Alto! In this 3-hour workshop, you'll learn about watering, mulching, and pruning techniques with the guidance of Canopy staff. If you already have tree care experience, practice your skills and meet new people. And if you are interested in becoming a Canopy Pruning Leader, attend this training to begin your journey!

Join Canopy and Hope Horizon for a special prayer breakfast bringing together pastors and faith leaders from across our community.
Over breakfast, we will pray, connect, and reflect on the vital role faith communities can play in Canopy’s 30th planting season – and in growing a healthier, more resilient urban forest together.
Following the breakfast, we invite you to stay after the breakfast to Celebrate Together, Canopy’s planting season kickoff and Latino Conservation Week celebration. Together, we will put faith into action by planting and caring for trees on the Hope Horizon campus.
