Sunday Tree Walk: West Bayshore

Description: A Sunday Tree Walk! Join Canopy and an expert arborist for an autumn stroll through the West Bayshore neighborhood. Examine diverse tree species like the White Mulberry, Red Ironbark, Carob, Patmore Ash, Briottii Red Horse Chestnut, River She-oak, and many more. Planting Leader Training Part 1 (option 1)

Location: Peninsula conservation Center - 3921 East Bayshore Road, Palo Alto
Description: This two-part, hands-on workshop is for teens and adults who want to help lead community tree-plantings with Canopy. No prior experience or knowledge is required; all skill levels are welcome! Returning veterans who would like to sharpen their skills are also invited to join.

Part One includes an introduction to urban trees, proper tree-planting techniques, and best practices in young tree care. It is offered on two dates: Thursday, Sept. 17th and Friday, Sept. 18th. Part Two allows participants to put their new skills to work planting young trees at a community space (school, park, or neighborhood) in Palo Alto or East Palo Alto. Habitat for Humanity "Building Blocks" Neighborhood Tree Planting

Time: 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Location: Beech Street between Clarke and Pulgas, East Palo Alto, CA
Description: On Friday, September 25th, the City of East Palo Alto will partner with Canopy to plant between 25 and 45 new street trees on and around Beech Street in East Palo Alto. The tree planting is part of 3-day “Building Blocks” event hosted by Habitat for Humanity, where volunteers will repair and renovate the exteriors of several neighborhood homes. Residents of the neighborhood are highly encouraged to participate in this event. Even if we are not planting a tree adjacent to your home, we invite you to participate in the tree-planting. Trees of Stanford: A Walk through Time

Description: Join Canopy and the Stanford Historical Society as we explore the rich mosaic of Stanford trees on a journey through the past, present, and future. The event will begin with a panel of renowned experts speaking about the diverse landscape, unique tree species, and rich arboreal heritage of the Stanford campus. Next, guests will head outside to explore one of four different areas on campus, embarking on tree walks led by panelists and other experts. The event is free, but RSVPs are required.
