Long-serving Executive Director, Catherine Martine

Long-serving Executive Director, Catherine Martineau, led Canopy’s growth and evolution for 18 years. When she retired this February, she passed along a highly functional organization with a clear and important mission, strong operations, extraordinary staff and volunteers, and a culture that reflects the organization’s key values of service, excellence, equity, gratitude, and collaboration.

🌳 Canopy is conducting a search for an Executive Director to lead the organization’s efforts to grow the urban tree canopy in Midpeninsula communities for the benefit of all, prioritizing underserved populations and areas with less canopy coverage or fewer resources. Canopy is hiring! Join our programs team as a #parttime Youth Programs Associate or #paidinternship working on Community Outreach & Data Processing or Tree Survey & Data Analysis. Click the link in our bio to read the full job descriptions and learn how to apply.

🌳 Youth Programs Associate: education role collaborating to lead the TUF program incorporating youth empowerment, social and environmental justice, leadership, and 21st-century skills.

🌳 Community Outreach & Data Processing Intern: assist with data mining and manipulation, and implement an outreach campaign to identify and address potential tree care using Google Sheets, Salesforce, and Tree Plotter.

🌳 Tree Survey & Data Analysis Intern: support Canopy's annual Young Tree Care Survey by developing survey routes and overseeing the collection, analysis, and reporting of valuable tree data to the City of Palo Alto’s urban forestry staff.

Thank you, Senator @josh.becker.ca and local staff, for joining Canopy to plant trees with us on the @kippvaliant campus. Our Teen Urban Foresters (TUFs) were terrific planting leaders, and we are so grateful for the enthusiastic support of the KIPP Valiant community. We enjoyed being back planting on the Willow Oaks campus. Canopy added 8 @calfire-funded trees which are already busy doing the work of nature-based climate action! 🌳 @kippnorcal
