Tree Care Work Day

Where: Costano Elementary School, 2695 Fordham St, East Palo Alto, CA, United States
Date: October 11, 2014
Time: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
Details: Help maintain young trees and keep our urban forest happy and healthy! Join Canopy as we continue to do some much needed tree care work on young trees. The day will mostly consist of weeding, mulching, and adjusting stakes as needed. All tools and equipment will be provided and snacks will be provided in the morning. We encourage you to bring reusable water bottles. Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes and sign a waiver (or have your parent/guardian sign a waiver if you are under 18 years old). 1 to 2 Planting Leaders needed to help lead volunteers. 20-30 general volunteers needed. Crescent Park Tree Walk

Where: Meet on Lincoln Avenue, between University and Hamilton

Details: Spend an autumn morning with Canopy and an expert arborist ambling through the Crescent Park neighborhood. We'll touch on the great height of the Tulip Tree, the prehistoric Maidenhair Tree, the Saucer Magnolia, Queen Palm, Australian Tea Tree, Dawn Redwood, Chinese Tallow Tree, and many more.
