Volunteer Education Leader Training - Part 1

West Bayshore Tree Walk

Where: Meet at the Ohlone School, 950 Amarillo Avenue, Palo Alto

Details: Join Canopy and an expert arborist for an autumn stroll through the West Bayshore neighborhood. Examine diverse tree species like the White Mulberry, Red Ironbark, Carob, Patmore Ash, Briottii Red Horse Chestnut, River She-oak, and many more! YCS Make a Difference Day

Where: East Palo Alto Charter School, 1286 Runnymede St, East Palo Alto, CA 94303, United States
Date: November 8, 2014
Time: 11:00 am to 2:00 pm
Details: East Palo Alto Youth Community Service (YCS) and Canopy are teaming up to help maintain young trees and keep our urban forest happy and healthy! We will continue to do some much needed tree care work on young trees. The day will consist of planting Catalina cherry seedlings, weeding recently planted trees, mulching, and adjusting stakes as needed. All tools and equipment will be provided and snacks will be provided in the morning. We encourage you to bring reusable water bottles. Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes and sign a waiver (or have your parent/guardian sign a waiver if you are under 18 years old). 1 to 2 Planting Leaders needed to help lead volunteers. Veterans Day Tree Care and Planting

Where: VA Healthcare System of Menlo Park - 795 Willow Road, Menlo Park 94025

Details: Celebrate Veterans Day by caring for community trees! Canopy is partnering with the Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System Menlo Park division to provide much-needed tree care and replacement plantings in the area. 15 volunteers needed. Click here to sign up.

Tree Care Work Day at Willow Oaks

Where: Willow Oaks School, 620 Willow Rd, Menlo Park, CA
Date: November 15, 2014
Time: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
Details: Help maintain young trees and keep our urban forest happy and healthy! Join Canopy as we continue to do some much needed tree care work on young trees. The day will mostly consist of weeding, mulching, and adjusting stakes as needed. All tools and equipment will be provided and snacks will be provided in the morning. We encourage you to bring reusable water bottles. Gunn High School Tree Planting

Soundwall Re-planting
